For me it's with great pleasure to have Phil Magallanes in my band, I enjoy his playing very much. He is a very passionate and professional musician, and also very versatile in many styles of music. Keep grooving, Phil!!!!!!!!!!! ARTURO SANDOVAL

"I've shared the stage with Phil many times, both as a sideman (w/Blood, Sweat & Tears, Terry Silverlight Band, etc...) and in my own band. I can say, without hesitation, that Phil Magallanes is a great talent. Phil has solid technique, ears, and most importantly, knows his role as a keyboardist/pianist in a wide range of styles. His contribution, both as a co-writer and player, to my critically acclaimed "Blue Thumb" album (alongside Eric Alexander, Bob Malach, Harvie S , David Mann) was marvelous. I always look forward to working with him. GIL PARRIS

"I had the pleasure of recording with Phil on a Gil Parris CD. He is a total professional who plays piano and keyboards with finesse and passion. His main goal is to make the music sound as good as it can be. I always look forward to making playing with him in any situation." HARVIE SWARTZ

"Phil Magallanes is one of the most brilliant keyboardists I've had the opportunity to play with. His vocabulary in all styles of music, and good taste as to when and when not apply his vast knowledge in the heat of the moment, makes him one of the treasured talents of our time and an asset to any musical project. Most importantly, his groove swings and feels great." TERRY SILVERLIGHT

"Phil has obviously played music in another lifetime. I'd give anything to have his chops...his impeccable sense of time, phrasing, and expression...in any style, too. It's just not fair!" MARY LOUISE KNUTSON

"Phil is a wonderfully talented player in a very natural, intuitive way!" DAN HAERLE

It is my ongoing pleasure to know Phil both personally and musically. Both the person and the musician are great works in progress. Those who are lucky enough can experience the beautiful music that passes through the man and out his fingers. It is with so much expression that you will surely be moved. Whether he is playing jazz, classical or popular styles every note fills the soul. Phil Magallanes is one of those wonderful experiences worth having. Like me, you'll want more. I have to share some truth with you. I have worked with hundreds of keyboardists in my time. During our gig at O'haras Jazz Club in Hollywood, Florida, we were the house band for a jazz jam session. We were required to backup any of the various singers and instrumentalists and cover a wide range of repertorie. I was amazed by Phil's abilities to:

    1) Know and play any song, from jazz to rock, to funk, pop, etc and and play it from heart in any key (without using the transpose button)!

    2) Lead the band through the changes and make up the arrangement on the spot, even while the singer was singing.

    3) Save the song several times when the vocalist decided to cut to a verse without finishing a chorus, for example.

    4) Play the best and most awesome solos night after night.

    5) Have all the cool sounds on the keyboards to spice up the song, from soft background strings, to in-your-face horns, etc.

    6) Also plays hot guitar and is an encyclopedia of music, even classical and country.

    7) And do everything with a smile and great, kind attitude.

    8) In fact the only thing I do not like about Phil is that he does not play in my band (but I am working on that!!)

    9) Any band would be lucky to work with Phil, in my experience. RANDY SINGER
